A Perfect Hostess

Okay, I failed to take pictures of the full event because we were having so much fun, but Samara hosted her first party on Wednesday for our Heights Kids "playgroup." Really, it's just our group of moms getting together to chat and hang out while the babies look around the room at fellow chubby-cheeks, but it's still fun! And Samara was the perfect little hostess at our second playgroup date held this week at our house. We made chocolate chip cookies* (which everyone was obsessed with - yay!), and put out lots of blankets for our friends to sit and/or lie down on. Everyone had a great time, and Samara found a cute little boy, Walker, to stare at for a while before falling asleep for the rest of the party.

Since I forgot to take pictures until everyone left, I thought I'd at least take a photo of the post-party living room. Samara was still sleeping and looking especially tiny in the middle of the floor. Gabi thought all the blankets were awesome and proceeded to root around in them until I picked everything up!

I promise to take pictures during the next playgroup meeting!

*For those of you who have asked for my chocolate chip cookie "recipe," it's this:

Make cookies according to Nestle Tollhouse directions. Substitute regular granulated sugar for raw Muscovado sugar, and replace regular chocolate chips with dark chocolate chunks. Once cookie dough has been made, put in freezer for at least an hour before scooping into balls and baking (a trick from my mom - the cookies set up best if the dough is cold when put into oven). That's it. So, it's not really "my" recipe, but these are my tweaks.
